Solo Meditation: Peace Begins with Me

I've felt the urge to write about P E A C E today - especially with the holidays surrounding us the next couple of weeks. I don't know about you, but with all the shopping, crazy malls, last minute Q4 work emails, lots of get-togethers - it's easy for me to absorb the chaotic energy in my environment. And that is exactly when this lovely meditation of a tool comes into hand! This particular mediation comes from the Kundalini practice and something that I took from the book, May Cause Miracles written by the beautiful spiritual teacher, Gabby Bernstein.

What I love about this, is that you can practice it ANYWHERE and without anyone noticing - if that is something you might be worried or concerned about. You can practice in the car, while you're in line at the grocery store, at your usual scared space OR you can even practice it when you're in your work bathroom stall...TMI? Ha! I thought it would give you a laugh!

Things You'll Need:

- Your presence

- Incense (optional - I'm a huge fan of the Satya brand)

Affirmation/Mantra: "Peace begins with me."

Time: Your practice comes to an end when your mantra is complete.

Ambiance: You have the option to create a beautiful ambiance, light your incense and play some soothing music (I usually look on Spotify for a meditation playlist) OR you can take this on the go!

Practice: Sit in easy pose if you're in an area that allows you to or if you're on the go, just take a minute to plant yourself.

>>> Ground yourself <<<

Envision roots branching out of the bottom of your root chakra, if your sitting, or soles of your feet, if you're standing or your feet are flat to the floor - growing into the depths of the earth.

>>> Bring yourself to this present moment <<<

Now, you are ready for the meditation!

Close your eyes if you are able to - if not, that is perfectly okay! This meditation will work just as well with your eyes open.

Place your index finger on your thumb with a light pressure.
