E's Favorite Green Morning Fuel

I LOVE a good smoothie in the morning. In fact - I usually always start my day with one - so today I wanted to share one of my favorites! What's great about this recipe is that it's not only full of amazing nutrients, vitamins, healthy fats, protein, fiber, antioxidants etc., but it also uses ingredients that you most likely already have at home or can get at any grocery store, which is always a bonus. I hope you enjoy just as much as I do :)

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup of ice

  • 1 cup of unsweetened almond milk/coconut milk

  • 1 date or natural sweetener of your choice

  • A generous handful of spinach or kale

  • 1.5 tablespoons of peanut butter/almond butter or 1 scoop of protein (I like to mix my smoothie flavors up & LOVE the Vanilla Garden of Life Raw Protein)

  • 1/2 of a frozen banana

  • 1/4 of avocado

  • Dash of cinnamon

  • 1 teaspoon of cocoa nibs -  I like to add a little crunch to my smoothie by topping it off with these little antioxidant babies (optional)

  • 1/2 cup of rolled oats for thickness and extra protein (optional)

Directions:

Blend all together, sprinkle some cocoa nibs on top and enjoy! :)
