Tutti Fruiti Turmeric Smoothie

Over the past few years, I've struggled with various autoimmune diseases (ulcerative colitis, guttate psoriasis, plaque psoriasis and eczema), and as a result, anti-inflammatory foods play an important role in my daily diet. Turmeric is a highly effective anti-inflammatory spice that is potent enough to where you only need a tiny tiny bit! One of my favorite ways to incorporate this plant is through this delicious mango smooth.

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup frozen mango, cubed

  • 1/2 of a banana or 1/2 avocado if you're looking for less sugar (I would recommend adding a Medjool date or Stevia for some sweetness :))

  • 1 cup of ice

  • 1 tsp coconut oil

  • 1 cup of unsweetened almond milk/coconut milk or any milk of your choice

  • 1/4 cup of rolled oats (adds more texture & protein!)

  • ½ tsp ground turmeric

  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon

  • Handful of coconut flakes (optional)

Directions:

  • Blend all together, sprinkle with some yummy coconut flakes and enjoy :)
